Himalayas bike expedition to Ladakh is often referred to as a Mecca For Bikers, and sure the name lives up to the hype. So, here we are presenting a Ladakh bike tour package covering almost all aspects of Ladakh and even the places less travelled by most traveller. This bike trip is extensive 10 days touring, so be prepared for some hot or cold weather. We have put the utmost effort into making this trip one in a lifetime experience for a rider, this itinerary has been researched and carefully formulated after looking back at several of our tours in the past.

Ladakh is “the land of high passes” and most of which will be conquered in this Bike Tour Of Ladakh. And its beauty is not limited to high passes but its landscape, culture, and people are worth admiring in itself. Some of the places you are about to visit like Turtuk and Chuchul were not open for tourist until few years back, all effort has been made to include places important in this Ladakh bike tour package to make optimum use of your precious time.

    Day 1: Arrival and Acclimatization

    Difficulty: Easy

    Altitude Gain: 3500m

    Highlights: Shanti Stupa and Leh Palace

    Arrive at Leh airport, where our representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Spend the day acclimatizing to the high altitude by staying hydrated and avoiding physical activity. In the evening, you will be briefed about the days ahead and meet your team. Visit the iconic Shanti Stupa and Leh Palace, followed by a stroll through the local bazaar. Overnight stay in Leh.

    Day 2: Leh to Lamayuru | Sangam Point | Hall of Fame

    Difficulty/Duration: Easy / Approx. 5 hours

    Altitude Gain: 10m

    Distance: 120 km / 74 miles

    Highlights: Moonland View, Lamayuru Monastery

    After breakfast, embark on your Himalayan bike expedition towards Lamayuru. Visit the Hall of Fame museum, Pathar Sahib Gurdwara, and experience Magnetic Hill. Ride along NH1 before reaching the stunning Moonland landscape. Explore Lamayuru Monastery in the evening. Overnight stay at Lamayuru.

    Day 3: Lamayuru to Padum via Warila, Sir Sir-La & Singe-La

    Difficulty/Duration: Difficult / Approx. 8 hours

    Altitude Gain: 180m

    Distance: 240 km / 149 miles

    Highlights: Offroad trails, Zanskar River, mountain landscapes

    Ride through Wanla and Photoksar villages, stopping at Sir Sir-La and Singe-La Pass (16,590 ft). Enjoy rugged offroad trails alongside the Zanskar River. Explore Padum market and local culture. Overnight stay in Padum.

    Day 4: Padum to Purne & Phuktal Monastery Trek

    Difficulty/Duration: Easy / Approx. 3 hours

    Altitude Gain: 200m

    Distance: 80 km / 50 miles

    Highlights: Offroad ride, Gombo Rangjun, Shinkula Pass

    Ride to Purne through scenic villages and trek to the remote Phuktal Monastery. Enjoy lunch hosted by monastery monks. Return to Purne campsite for a peaceful night. Overnight stay at Purne.

    Day 5: Purne to Sarchu via Shinkula Pass

    Difficulty/Duration: Moderate / Approx. 7 hours

    Altitude Gain: 450m

    Distance: 250 km / 155 miles

    Highlights: Gombo Rangjon, Shinkula Pass, Baralacha-La

    Ride through rugged offroad terrain, pass sacred Gombo Rangjon, descend Shinkula Pass and join Leh–Manali Highway. Overnight stay in Sarchu.

    Day 6: Sarchu to Tsomoriri via Moore Plains

    Difficulty/Duration: Difficult / Approx. 7 hours

    Distance: 180 km / 111 miles

    Highlights: Lachung-La, Ghata Loop, Moore Plains

    Cross the iconic Ghata Loop and vast Moore Plains. Pass Pang and Puga Hot Springs before reaching Tsomoriri. Overnight stay at Tsomoriri.

    Day 7: Tsomoriri to Hanle

    Difficulty/Duration: Moderate / Approx. 6 hours

    Distance: 140 km / 86 miles

    Highlights: Hanle Observatory, Hanle Monastery

    Ride to the remote village of Hanle. Visit the world’s highest observatory and enjoy stargazing. Overnight stay at Hanle.

    Day 8: Hanle – Umling-La – Hanle

    Difficulty/Duration: Difficult / Approx. 8 hours

    Altitude Gain: 1580m

    Distance: 189 km / 117 miles

    Highlights: Umling-La, Kalatartar Plains

    Ride to Umling-La, one of the world’s highest motorable roads. Experience a once-in-a-lifetime summit moment. Return to Hanle for overnight stay.

    Day 9: Hanle to Leh via Chumathang

    Difficulty/Duration: Moderate / Approx. 8 hours

    Distance: 270 km / 167 miles

    Highlights: Chumathang Hot Springs

    Ride back to Leh with a stop at Chumathang Hot Springs. Optional visits to Thiksey Monastery and 3 Idiots school. Overnight stay in Leh.

    Day 10: Leh Rest Day

    Altitude: 11,480 ft / 3500m

    Terrain: Rest day

    Relax and explore Leh at your own pace. Visit Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa, or local markets.

    Day 11: Departure

    Enjoy a final breakfast before transfer to Leh airport. Depart with unforgettable memories of your Himalaya Bike Expedition.

    Terms and Conditions

  • We require minimum strength of 4 riders to operate one group. We have the right to cancel the group if we do not get the minimum strength of riders in any group.
  • In case of circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to road blockage due to a landslide, heavy snowfall, avalanche and other natural disasters, war, terrorist activity and political insurgency, we reserve the right to cancel/reschedule/change tour plans. We cannot pay any compensation for monetary/value loss in such unforeseen situations.
  • Mototour Ladakh reserves the right to modify the sequence of the day-wise tour itinerary without prior notice. The itinerary is subject to changes due to traffic schedules, restrictions, landslides, weather conditions, or any other unforeseen travel-related circumstances.
  • Mototour Ladakh reserves the right to remove any client from the tour for misbehavior, unreasonable disputes, or physical/verbal assault affecting another client or any Ground Field Staff member.

    Cancellation Policy

  • Booking amount of 40% is not refundable, but it can be used for any other dates.
